I always enjoy weddings, especially because as a professional makeup artist and hair stylist, the brides spend the few hours before their wedding events with me so, I often form a personal connection with my brides. I love hearing these wonderful love stories and become witness to such lovely ceremonies and events. One of my brides who definitely had a wonderful story was Harleen.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Harleen and her groom are based in Canada and planned a destination wedding in Dubai. It\u2019s amazing how she was able to pull off such lovely wedding events even if she is not locally based in UAE. Read on about her inspiring wedding journey.<\/p>\n

Harleen & Maninder’s 2018 Dubai Destination Wedding<\/strong><\/h1>\n

How It All Started<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Harleen & Maninder:\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>We\u2019ve known each other since our childhood and we never really thought that we will ever be married to each other. After 10 years of not seeing each other, we met again on July 4, 2016 at Harleen\u2019s brother\u2019s marriage in Vancouver. There was an instant magical connection. This was the start of our beautiful journey.<\/p>\n

The Courtship<\/strong><\/h2>\n

\u00a0<\/em>Harleen & Maninder:\u00a0<\/em>We connected on social media and then after about 6 months, we met again in Toronto. We went to multiple dates. We enjoyed each other\u2019s company.<\/p>\n

We are both travel enthusiasts. We appreciate the simple and most important things about each other. Our world is complete when we have each other.<\/p>\n

The Engagement<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Harleen :\u00a0<\/em>On October 15, 2017, we got engaged.\u00a0 Maninder popped the question at Banff, Canada and I said YES!\u00a0 It was a very loving feeling as we were going to start a new beginning.<\/p>\n

The Wedding Planning <\/strong><\/h2>\n

\"Dubai<\/p>\n

\u00a0Harleen & Maninder:\u00a0<\/em>Our wedding date was set on February 11, 2018.\u00a0 We chose Dubai to be the location for our wedding events. My husband and I planned our entire wedding. We handled every single detail. We were happy and at same time scared too that all the things will go as planned in Dubai as it was completely different destination for us. \u00a0Dubai was unforgettable. The reason we chose Dubai was probably because of Atlantis the Palm, as the location is very beautiful.<\/p>\n

The Wedding Events<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Harleen & Maninder:\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>Our Punjabi style Shagun ceremony was at Hotel Al Barsha. Our Sangeet was held at a beautiful dhow cruise with a Bollywood theme.<\/p>\n

The Wedding ceremony is traditional Punjabi style was at Nanak Darbar Gurduwara Dubai.<\/p>\n

Lastly, our reception was Arabic inspired which was held at the magnificent Atlantis The Palm.<\/p>\n

The Makeup <\/strong><\/h2>\n

Harleen :\u00a0<\/em>I searched for Farah on Instagram and YouTube. \u00a0I really liked her flawless makeup style. \u00a0I was very comfortable working with Farah and I really loved my makeup for both events. Farah is really talented. I loved when she also gave me honest suggestion on my jewelry.For wedding, I wanted a traditional style and for the reception I trusted Farah.<\/p>\n

For wedding, she created Indian style bride. I loved the eye makeup\u00a0and the makeup was good throughout the day.<\/p>\n

For reception, it was Arabic style. \u00a0It was different for me but I liked it as it went with my destination. \u00a0My family loved the makeup especially my mom as she always dreamed of seeing me as bride and her opinion always mattered to me.<\/p>\n
